About Us:
The mission of the MATS Committee on Practice Advancement (COPA) is to advance the profession by seeking recognition and reimbursement by third-party payors as autonomous providers of physical medicine and rehabilitative care.
The COPA Committee is committed to discovering ways Athletic Trainers can meet the needs in the ever changing healthcare setting by investigating where ATs can be utilized in non-traditional settings.
Goals, Functions, and Responsibilities:
-
Continue to progress with TPR in the State of Michigan
-
Continue to formulate documents to help MI ATs pursue their billing practice
-
Collect data on outcomes with ATs seeing patients from eval to discharge
-
Continue to advocate for ATs to work in more settings than our traditional settings. With the number of healthcare shortages, what ways can ATs fill the gaps?
